Feed & Nutrition for Ducks And Geese
Following are supplies you can use to start your baby birds. We have chosen the best from several different manufacturers.
It is best to ship the equipment and starter feed at least one week in advance of your birds to ensure the equipment arrives and is set up when the babies arrive.
If these are mailed at the same time as the babies, the babies will probably arrive a day or two before any regular boxes as live animals take priority at
the post office. We can include the Brooder Thermometer, Poult Pak or five pounds of Waterfowl Starter Feed with your duckling or gosling order.
The remaining supplies cannot be included in the chick box with the babies.
If this is your first time raising ducklings or goslings, we recommend you look through our collection of Books.
Many of these will make an excellent reference as you raise your birds.

GroGel Bird Starter
The greatest nutritional needs of newly hatched birds are water, carbohydrates and protein. We have found a product, GroGel, that has been especially formulated to meet these needs. It also aids their immune and gastrointestinal systems. We will prepare it, place it in a plastic trough and attach it to the inside of the box so your birds can eat it during their journey to your home. When your birds arrive, normally all that is left is an empty trough and green droppings. GroGel is a super hydrating gel (sort of like ground up jello) that is bright green to attract the birds and will hold the nutrients and moisture until consumed. This small investment is an excellent way to give your birds a healthy start and helps protect them if there is any delay along the way. We suggest adding this small investment in the your bird's future health at the time of ordering.
For 1-6 Birds, the cost is $.75 per bird. For 7-24 birds, it's $.45 per bird, and for 25 or more birds, the cost is only $.30 per bird.
