The Hookbill, also called the Dutch Hookbill, is one of the oldest domestic breeds as it was mentioned in writings dating from 1676 in Holland. Their origin may have been Asia but are associated with the canals and rivers of Holland where they would forage during the day and then fly back to their farm at night.

The theory is that the hook shaped bill was developed so hunters could differentiate them from wild Mallards. They are considered by many to be the best forager and are also extremely gentle. As we have a small flock, your Hookbill ducklings will come in a variety of colors. Their eggs are mostly blue/green in color.
