As the name suggests, Blue Slate turkeys are easily recognized by their slate-blue feathers that range from light gray to a deep, smoky blue. They are a medium-sized turkey with a calm demeanor and excellent foraging ability.
Toms weigh 20–23 pounds, and hens weigh 12–14 pounds, and they are hardy, active, and well-suited for free-range living. They produce high-quality, flavorful meat and are excellent layers making them popular among farmers and turkey enthusiasts.

Preordered 5 blue slate poults. First time ordering live birds online, and I wasn't sure what to expect. It's February, cold and they're shipped to rural upstate NY. Well, they're well packed! Sponge and straw mat with hot hands packs for warmth and a cup for humidity. All five were healthy, one was droopy until we got him drinking the electrolytes. Very excellent birds! Will order again!
