We ordered 4 standard bronze turkeys over a year ago. While a couple ended up on a dinner platter, our tom John Adams won our hearts (even though we're not usually the sentimental kind with poultry), and Johnny Adams is now the equivalent of the family dog. His temperament is excellent. Gentle around our children, and he eats from our hand so gently, he purposely doesn't hurt us with his considerably sharp, powerful beak. Long live John Adams. We are ordering more of these sweet turkeys from Metzer this summer.
