We are beyond egg-cited to announce that we have a new breed of meat chicken! The Pioneer Chicken is available now, and we know you want to be the first to get your hands on them!
With 15 years of careful development to create the best pasture-raised meat chicken, the Pioneer Chicken is the result of a cross between the Heritage Transylvanian Naked Neck, the Heritage Delaware, and a Peterson family bird dating back to the 1940s. The Transylvanian Naked Neck contributes exceptional heat tolerance and immunity, while the Delaware genes provide excellent body structure and skeletal strength. When combined with the Peterson bird, known for its impressive feed conversion and ease of management, the Pioneer Chicken has become a great broiler for pasture-based farming. Well-equipped to roam, run, and forage, the Pioneer breed does a great job on the pasture.
Pioneer Qualities:
- growth: 4.12 lbs live weight in 49 days & 6.30 lbs in 63 days
- strong leg muscles: enables them to cover more ground efficiently
- natural gait: promotes joint health and reduced stress
- endurance: can roam for extended periods, maximizing free-range potential
- natural instincts: strong foraging instincts
- diverse diet: results in healthy birds and high quality meat
- low maintenance: natural behaviors reduce the need for intensive management
- adaptability: thrives in diverse farming systems

After a long, dreary winter, Spring has finally arrived...
To get you excited for the warmth and baby birds, here are some fun facts about Geese that you need to know:
- Expert Weeders: Need help in the garden? Geese love munching on grass and prefer it over broadleaf plants. If you want to train them to eat broadleaf weeds, starting feeding those weeds days after hatching. They will grow up liking that crop along with grass! It's like hiring a lawn crew that honks, waddles and entertains!!
- Guard Goose on Duty: Geese are naturally alert, territorial, and LOUD! Many farms use them as feathered security systems. Intruder? Honked.
- Goose-tude: Geese are confident, bold, and hilariously dramatic. They'll strut around like they own the place...because they think they do!
- Imprinting Time: Goslings imprint on the first thing they see - AKA you! Cue the cuddles, head tilts, and loyal waddles.
- Fashion Icons: Let's face it...geese are stunning creatures. From the snowy elegance of the Embden geese to the patchy cuteness of Pilgrims, geese have serious style and are always camera ready!
Order yours today to witness all of the joy that comes from having a goose bestie HERE!
