CUSTOMERS & FRIENDS!

APPPA. Heard of it? The abbreviation stands for The American Pastured Poultry Producers Association. The American Pastured Poultry Association is a great organization that provides resources and networking opportunities for pasture poultry farmers.
Earlier in January, Metzer Farms attended the APPPA's Annual Conference in Allen, Texas. Metzer Farms was a proud sponsor of the event and we were very thankful for the opportunity to meet so many great farmers while at the conference. Marc Metzer presented "How to Make Bucks with Ducks", shared survey results from a nationwide sampling of poultry producers, and sat on a panel regarding HPAI.

Ever wonder if a certain snacks or treats are okay for your ducks to eat? Put your mind at ease and check out the top 10 toxic foods that your waterfowl should not consume. We have the top food contenders. These foods are dangerous for ducks. Click Here to learn more.

On the flip side, here is another of our Blogs that focuses on good, healthy food options to feed your waterfowl. The link below explores wholesome treats that your waterfowl will really enjoy:

Here is a fun comparison chart that John Metzer put together that compares the advantages of ducks as opposed to the advantages of chickens. What do you see as the biggest advantage of your ducks? Or your chickens for that matter?
We find that messy pens resulting from the spillage of water is perhaps the biggest shortcoming when it comes to ducks. Water puddles easily become mud puddles. Adding proper flooring options, removing swimming water, and adding nipple waterers to your duck enclosure are perhaps the easiest ways to eliminate the mess. More details below.
